Description: Black on thick natural colored paper, Japanese characters (which is the note title) in ornamental frame, two facing dragons below. Reverse black, with bird at top with feathers swooped down, dragon below. This note is a Gold Note Issue from the Civil Department of the Meiji Government, which was in power from 1867 until 1912. This note measures 42mm wide x 110mm high. We are happy to offer the complete set of four notes of this scarce issue, this example being the highest denomination of the series.
