Description: Black, brown, green, & blue on white paper, bank title in Russian at center, numeral “1” in guilloches left and right. Back brown with steam locomotive at center. This popular private bank was established in 1895 under the name Russo-Chinese Bank, changing to the Russo-Asiatic Bank in 1910. The notes of this series issued from the Harbin branch of the bank were engraved entirely in Russian by the American Banknote Company and were specifically meant for use by the Chinese Eastern Railway, and were also denomination in rubles. This bank ceased operations in 1926, having been affected by the Russian Revolution, as it was affiliated with the White Russian cause.
